Hello All! Pretty new to the Vanagon Scene but thought I would share an interesting project I just picked up. It’s an 88’ Factory 2 Knob Syncro that spent its first 25 years as a fire truck for a small German Village until my buddy imported her to the US. It has the 112 HP 2.1 with High Compression Pistons and my buddy installed the rare Reimo Pop Top and Westy Interior. The bus has very little seam rust just a very small area above the passenger rear wheel as it was stored indoors during its life as a fire truck. It also has just under 100k OG Miles! Here’s a few pics, I will add interior shots once I get her cleaned out and cleaned up.

Looks neat!

Interior looks non-stock Westy. Can we see inside photos?

Yes Sphet she began life as a Factory 2 Knob Syncro Tin Top Fire Truck. The Reimo Top and Westfalia Interior was added by the prior owner. I will post interior pics soon. Need to get her cleaned out.

Really good score!
The top is a rare commidity and now I'm officially envious! Laughing

The headlight grill is also a rare item, name begins with a "T" and the rest of it I forget!

Thanks for posting, what a cool rig.

When you post more photos, could you please take some of the inside of the poptop? I'm curious what kind of hinges and lift supports this rare top uses. Thanks

That's the Swedish 'Taifun' grille - I've hankered after one for a long time...

Nice score. That's my all out favorite top. Would love to see some pics with the top up.

Which fire department did your Syncro come from? I was lucky to get pics from the station my van came from. They were surprised that their old support van was now halfway across the world.

Honestly, I haven’t had a chance to look at the paperwork to determine what Village she served...I finally got my hands on her the other day and had to leave town the next day. I will be home in about 10 days and get more pics and info posted.
