I feel bad even asking this question, as I have no reason to NOT trust Mike Plompen. But this is business and these buys are big $$.
I have been communicating very happily and effectively with the Busman, Mike Plompen - he's been great - and my wife and I are ready to engage his services to secure a eurovan to ship back to Canada for us.
But I am (not unreasonably I don't think) a little bit anxious about sending $18,000, blind, to a stranger, even if he seems to be the GoTo guy on TheSamba for this kind of deal.
I am a big believer in trusting humankind, but this is beyond my usual comfort zone.
With Mike's permission, I am asking here, if anyone would share with me, their experience dealing with Mike. (I have looked - there are a number of people who mention Mike's help - glowingly - in their reports. but none seem to drill down to "Can I send this guy $XX,000 with confidence"
1. Has Mike handled your purchase money?
2. How has Mike done on vetting (finding deficiencies in ) the vehicle before purchase?
I don't really think this should be a public discussion.
Maybe a private message to me would be most appropriate.
and I could then - with the commenter's permission and Mike's - repost those thoughts here to share on this forum.

Peter, can you share what you learned or your experience with Mike? I’m considering an import purchase with him.
Thanks! |
