Hi all.

Just got a 1973 Bay Bus with missing steering column parts.
Looking at the following diagram
Image may have been reduced in size. Click image to view fullscreen.

I'm missing the following:
1. Spring
2. Support Ring
6. Insulating Washer for ignition / steering lock
7. Circlip
8. Washer for Rubber Bushing

From 1968 to 1974, I'm not finding any of these parts...what gives??

Thanks

I've search all of the typical sites in US and in Germany but cannot find them.
I've seen the other posts too like:

Welcome!
Good job searching before asking, thank you! Cool

Stuff like that is only available used as far as I know, try www.thebusco.com or www.bustedbus.com , good luck!

Let me second Mr. Ken Madson at www.thebusco.com
I have used him a number of times to get hard to find parts.
Very fair pricing and doesnt gouge you on shipping.

I have also posted WTB ads on the samba.

You can also send message to people parting buses, that works too.

Best wishes and welcome to the cult...err...club from a fellow 73 bus owner.

Thanks Chuck.

I thought there would be more remanufactured parts for any of the years having
limited supplies...

It is quite the learning process.

The good thing about Ken at the busco is that he will include candy with your order. All you have to do is ask. For me, I get dum dum’s. Most of the other guys get smarties. I haven’t figured out why though
