T handle hole shape

My lid has been altered and im trying to put the hole back correctly. Is the dimple offset? If i make a circle off the old part it isnt centered. Top picture. I started to dimple it and stopped. I have been looking for a closeup picture of the area but this is the best Ive found, second picture. It also looks offset.
