I just replaced both switches on my 79 (3 prong switches) because I believe one of them was bad. The brakes are fine and fluid is full but the brake light in the dash would come on every once in a while.
I think one is good and I'd like to keep it as a spare.
How can I test them off the car? |

Unless you have a way to reproduce hydraulic pressure on the bench you are SOL, installed on the car is the only way. Pull the plugs off both and OHM each terminal pair static, and then pedal pushed (you'll need a helper), if you are doubtful swap the switches and repeat the test to rule out master cylinder issues.
If you swap them quickly you don't have to bleed each time, a small bubble in the switch hole will work it's way back up to the reservoir eventually in most cases. _________________ Rust NEVER sleeps and stock never goes out of style.

I already switched them both real quick with loss of very little fluid. |
