New Member and first post. thought I would share photos of my first car. my grandmother bought it for me from a guy in Texas. we lived in So. Cal. converted it to 12v and after the original engine blew, i put a 71' 1600 in and kept the bug until it got stolen in 1994. man I miss that bug! after years of hearing me complain, my wife (same gal in the photos) said "Shut up and buy a bug". I just picked up a 1966 Sunroof and cant stop smiling!

What were you using for a rack? Did it work? Or just for posing? Thanks for sharing.

It looks like he used those foam Pool Noodles under the boards. I have seen a few different people use the same setup . |

They are call Soft Racks. They have L brackets that hook to either the door jam or drip rail. If done correctly, you can strap down a board or two and travel at freeway speeds. The photos with multiple boards are from when I ran summer youth junior lifeguard program and we’re just around town. |

Yeah, it also has some strange bumper support looking things that go from the bumper to near the taillights. _________________ .
