Steering column upper bearing replacement 1973 bay

Howdy.
I've lost the steering column spring, and the collet is cracked, both of which are hard to source aftermarket, so I figured I'd replace them with this new bearing:

211415585A

However I can't find any installation instructions.. Is it a straight fit into the steerer tube or what? Do I need a press or other specialty tools?

The original bearing looks to be inside the steerer tube and not removable? Is this right? Is there a way to pull it out of there if needed? It still works fine, maybe there is some slight play, but the main reason I need the replacement is that the spring and retaining ring are missing.

i've tried to search it but came up with naught so far. anyone?
can it be as easy as knocking down the new bearing so it sits "on top" of the old one?
