Here is my 72 1302. I did a full restoration on my car in 2000 after being rear ended in a hit&run/road arage accident. My car has only 68,000 original miles on it. Painted in the original L54 D Marina Blue paint, and still with the original Lapis Blue interior, door pannels, headliner, carpets, dash, etc. Original accessories to the car include(d) bumper over riders, fuel door trim, rain shields, rock guards, formula vee exhaust tips, wood dash kit, center console, door kick guards. I added the wood slat roof rack, mud flaps, 1302 LS badge, nos tissue dispensor, pistol grip shift knob, Blaupunkt Am/Fm radio, nos German hood air scoop, nos Hagus panoramic mirror extension, rear fog light, and full wheel hubcaps. I still have a few things left to do on my car to call it done(are they ever really?) such as replacing the window rubber, adding pop outs, restored formula vee "Turtle Back" wheels, And my recent purchase of all new bushings, disc brakes, lowering springs, and stress bar from topline parts. When I'm done it's going to be one sweet driving super.

Here you go, Don
Plans include NOT painting it, a sweet roofrack, bumper mounted foglights, and a fuel-sipper s/p engine. It's not much, but it's not rusty, and it's mine _________________ '66 SO-42

That's awsome. Where did you dig that up? |
Nice eh? I picked it up for possible resale, but it's such a nice kit and in the box. It displays very well. I even think I have the instructions for it but cant remember. _________________ Sounding like a broken record as to why You should be measuring protein during harvest in order to better your agronomic practices. |

Not as nice as other SB's posted , but these two cars hold a special place in my heart as they were the first and second cars I owned. These are the only pictures of the cars that I know of. Both cars were 71 Super Beetles with gas heaters. The Ontario winters, or more specifically the road salt was not kind. In the first picture the car was only 6 or 7 years old (Taken ~1977 or 78 ). I think I was replacing the window regulator with 'help' from my nephew.
I kept the 'VOLKSWAGEN' script from the rear of this car when I scrapped it and I've now mounted it on the luggage cover between the speakers at the back of my current car.
This picture was taken in the early 80s, I had replaced the door and rear fenders (hence the later tail lights) from a white Beetle I bought for $50. That car had some 'Lady Bug' mats, which I still have. The front fenders were from a 73+ Super Beetle that I also bought for $50. I remember stripping the '73 in the driveway of the man I bought it from and then had a wrecker take away what was left.

So I have a 1972 flat screen Super Beetle, which is at least a 1302 right?
I read on superbeetles.com that the "s" means "Since 1970 both Standard Beetle and Super Beetle (since 1971) use the same 1600 ccm (actual 1584 ccm) engine in North America. In Europe the "S" or "LS" in 1302S, 1303S, and 1302LS indicates that the car is equipped with a 1600 ccm engine, disk brakes in front, and other trim items. While the versions without the "S" or "LS" featured a 1300 ccm (actual 1285 ccm) engine and drum brakes on all corners."
Although its probably from Topline, mine has discs up front. And there is a 1600 going in the back if I remember where all the parts go when I get the case back from the machinist. So does that make it an "s"? Are all US supers "s"? Or is this thread for only European destination of origin? _________________ 1966 Sportsmobile Camper https://www.thesamba.com/vw/forum/viewtopic.php?t=...mp;start=0
