We still haven't seen the South African Safar-a-westy with the Audi 5 cylinder either. _________________ '87 Syncro

Welllll...... it seems that fate has a different bus in store for me for my Bus build.
It all happened pretty fast in the last several weeks. The end result was a three way trade and cash across two of my friends and myself that resulted in the yellow westy going to a local friend who is going to restore it and either keep it or sell it on to a good home, and I get this:

I never really tried to belong to the club but the opportunity was staring me right in the face as I was just about to get started into the westy. I thought, well heck I'll kick myself if I do not take up this opportunity. I may $till kick my$elf later.... |
I hear ya. It's the next logical step. Have there been times when I've missed the simpler days with my 2wd Westy? I'd be lying if I said no. However, overall, my love for my Syncro has grown equally and inverse to the cash I've hemorrhaged. _________________ Joe T.

This syncro appears to have about 130,000 miles on it. The odometer is not correct (58,000).
It has sat for the last 15+ years. First was a CA, then FL, then in MD. From what I know it never ran in MD and maybe not in FL.
The paint is totally shot. The underside has surface rust on the usual parts but is totally solid and no severe seam rust. It is a good platform to start from and finding a syncro in MD that is not a rust bucket is highly rare. (Ask 4gears4tires).
Rear locker!
I plan on making a clone of the euroBus hightop and interior with this one.
Full mechanical refresh just like the euroBus.
It will get a 2012 EJ25 via Vanaru. (Sorry Casey.... )
