TripWire that is cool! Did it take you long to find another Dauphiine? What changes will you do this time around?

When I sold the last one it didn’t take me long to regret it! I bought this blue one about a year ago on EBay. Some of the changes I’ll be making are installing a sliding rag top clip from a Beetle, I took more of the frame head this time so the pedal location is better, I’ll be adding a Joe Blow supercharger on this one, and I will be installing a custom big brake kit on this one.

Here is a Vintage photo of a Renault dealership from the city I grew up in Las Vegas, NV. You can still see a Dauphine on the lot and one on the pole? If I had to guess I would say the pic was taken in the early 1970's? The yellow Dauphine stayed on the pole for decades late as this site was a few different used car dealerships. I think it was finally removed about ten years ago.

There’s a Mercedes 300SL parked on the street. That’s a seven figure car nowadays.

All you guy's building Dauphines inspired me to do my own. Mines a little different though, I used only the VW engine and trans. Still has the OG floor and frame rails in it (mostly).

I see you are in WA. Will we get to see this car at regional shows, if and when we get to have regional shows again?

I certainly hope so. Looks like summer jam is not happening. Hoping Avery's show is still on.

So you're on the West side of WA I take it?

Hoping for the Moxee show in September. Not sure any of the other shows will happen, and maybe not even Moxee.

Hello All,

This is awesome! Glad to see there are other builders out there who are not afraid of cutting some sheet metal out.

Turbodad, like to see the under carriage of your build, I find it interesting you kept the original front suspesion.

Tripwire, dude those rear BBS are "DEEP', I haven't seen BBS in a while.

My tranny is done, engine is ready just need to cut the pan to fit Dauphine body.

NZ FISH,

Looks like its welding the body onto the pan is the simple way to go. I though about having a removable body but its extra work. Send us a pic of your project.
