The one in my EVC might be toast. Looks like it's got sodium chromate crystals plugging something up, and so far my attempts to unjam it have been unsuccessful. Since I have a parts unit, a fridge with problems but with a functional refrigeration circuit would be fine. Any out there?

I'm looking at pulling mine out and replacing it with a Truckfridge in the next month or so. The Norcold still works pretty darn good: I cleaned out the burner box and vent last year but I did not replace any of the burner components as I was planning to go all electric soon anyway. Maybe we can work out something.

After I had given up on getting the fridge working, I tried one more round of vibrating everything with a palm sander, and lo and behold, it works. It cools down to about 35 degrees in 80 degree ambient on 120V. Does yours do better?

I might still be interested depending on where you are. I'm in SE Minnesota, you?

Way out here in SW Washington; just across the Columbia river from Portland, OR. Definitely not in your neck of the woods unless you are planning a trip out this way.

I think my EVC fridge just gave up as well. I am going to have someone look at it today but if it’s toast I might be interested in replacing. I live in Portland. Is yours still available? Very Happy

There's a bunch of stuff that can go wrong with these. Before junking it, go through the debugging flowchart in the manual.

As a last resort, if the problem is the refrigeration circuit, try "burping" the fridge like I did, and perhaps it'll fix it.
