I have a type 3 motor with dual solex carbs. The ball joint rods that go from the linkage to the throttle body are worn. Where can I get a replacement? Is there a way to fix them. Can I fill the socket with something and try to re-fit? Any help would be great. Thanks |

Note; not all dual Solex carb set ups used that linkage. My 65 Notch only uses a barrel nut and a longer (dual carb) throttle cable. My 64 T-34 did however use that style link. _________________ Bob 65 Notch S with Sunroof

EDIT: This assembly ended 2/65 and was replaced by a longer accelerator cable 3/65.
The linkage piece, btw, is the same as the short linkage on the PDSIT carbs.

Thank You but that is not it. The piece is about 4 inches long and has a ball socket on each end. It goes from the long linkage rod to the carb. There is one on each carb.. Thank You ,Tom |

The Samba online parts book is missing the dual carb section but I was able to find that the shorter accelerator cable (311 721 555) ended 2/65-which would also end the 3 ball pivot tower and the linkage pieces.
Not quite 64 only as they made it into 65 models as well. My 65 N was made after this date so it has the later pivot tower. |

Maybe you can print them out from
http://www.thesamba.com/vw/archives/manuals/type3_parts_book/ |
The version on the site is missing the whole dual carb section. My book has the page with the diagram but no listing by part #. |

Look up Type3Army on IG, or I think he goes by Critter1 on here. He is making replacement arms. |

Someone on here made up a set of long rods using heim joints. That might be an option. _________________ Bob 65 Notch S with Sunroof
