|
|
Hello all,
Does anyone know what the original carpet style in a 66 bug?
Was the original carpet that came in a 66 a trim kit (square weave) with rubber mats on the center piece and below the seats or was the entire floor pan carpeted?
I personally like the square weave carpet with the rubber mats, but i'm having trouble finding a kit for 1966. Wolfburgswest doesn't appear to sell rubber mats past 1958... TMI doesn't appear to sell them, and im not seeing good reviews on the jbugs one.
Any help is appreciated. |

Carpet at the footwell/cowl area, door sills, plus the rear luggage compartment. The rest was rubber.

Great info here, I plan on going this route with my 67. I cant stand carpet in a car, the stuff that is in the one I recently purchased is discuss ting. The Grey mat with the Black firewall, and Black edging carpet might look OK. Thanks |

I got gray and had some complaints about it (in another thread). I suspect the black would wear better and is probably more rubber-like (WW brand). The gray seems like more of a vinyl material, so scuffs and abrasions leave light colored scars on it. Nothing coco mats won't cover. |
