My late pan requires late pedals but I want the original look
So I plan on using the late base with roller type gas paddle with early arms for brake and clutch. Seems to be working?
Anyone here done it? |
Even if no one has, you'll just break out your CAD program and engineer a brilliant solution.

I was going to say the same thing. After reading through this entire amazing thread, and can't imagine why you would even buy anything when your skillset obviously allows you to make whatever part you need!

Nice brackets. Do you have a mill or did you face underneath for the nut with a drill press?
Another point you can add strength is to seam weld the edges of the 'pickle fork' that the gear box mounts too. The sheet steel is just spot welded together
look along the black edge to the right of the trailing arm and you'll be able to see the welding.
good to see some more progress on your car |

Lot's of frustration right now...
Got my suspension parts back from powder coating. After having had issues with him before this is another diappointment now. I choose silver, he coated light gray... many areas not completely painted into the corners and some areas not masked as agreed to.
I am now looking for a paint that will hold on powder coat to re-paint???
On the pedals I bought a set of bushings to rebuild... these had a larger ID than my old worn out ones. Plus the OD was so small that they fell right out the housing again. Now I will have to make some on my own. Great that I have the machines to do it but it is again more time and efforts... _________________ Stealth Ghia Transformation: http://www.thesamba.com/vw/forum/viewtopic.php?p=7226044&highlight=#7226044

Lars, I feel your pain. So often you send work out and it comes back not how we want
I have had good success with lightly sanding powder coat with 240 wet and dry and painting with Por 15 Silver. It flows out well with a brush or you can spray it if you thin it a bit. |

very nice set of pedals, quite 'retro'
I'm glad the silver had good adhesion.
Keep at it |
