I am working on a 1968 autostick. Motor single port with 30Pict 1 carb. I got it running after it sat for a few years. With choke on it runs fantastic. Driving down the road has a lot of get up and go. However, at idle it stumbles, revs up and down, stalls out, pops sometimes out of exhaust. Here is what I've done:

1. Cleaned the carb, cleared passages. Did not solve.
2. Tried another carb I had sitting around. Did not solve problem.
3. Took Dizzy off and cleaned it, made sure all was working. Vacuum advance works. Did not solve problem
4. Tried a 009 Flame Thrower dizzy. Does not stall out, but still did not solve the problem.

There are no vacuum leaks, fuel leaks. I am really lost at this. I was thinking of ordering new plugs, points, cap, condenser, and plug wires, but really don't think that will solve it.

Any help?

start with a basic tune-up. adjust valves, set points (dwell), set for full advance.

You have a vacuum leak. Check the vacuum hose to the auto stick for cracks and wiggle the throttle arm on carb to check for looseness, if it wiggles you are leaking air under butterfly leaning out mix.
