That is correct. They are not spaced exactly in a perfect square.

I love the idea of counter weighting the crank. With a properly balanced crank, pistons and con rods, a 36er would spin up very nicely. I bet just these simple mods and nothing else would give you another 10% more power, make it last longer and give better fuel economy. I think you would have to do a little first year physics math to calculate how much material to take off the flywheel to keep the reciprocating mass the same with the new counterweights added.

Keep it up, I'll be watching and waiting till dyno day to see what this little mill makes.

Got a pair of Stefan.g idf manifolds. He was able to send me raw aluminum ones instead of the black coated ones like advertised in his ad. I welded and match ported them to the heads.

Sandblasted the heater boxes and painted with por 15 manifold gray then baked to cure the paint. Used new springs and cotter pins. Got some stainless steel 1 3/8” j tubes and fitted them. Assembled with original hardware I cleaned up. Working on getting some flanges.

Went through some 40idf Weber’s. Went with some mesh air cleaners from Flat-4.

Rekeyed some reproduction door handles to work with an original key code from the ignition switch. Also did a T handle for the deck lid. that was much easier then the door handles.

First I had to drill the rivet end to remove the pin to disassemble the handle

Next is the hardest part. Removing the roll pin that holds the lock cylinder in. I used a series of small drill bits and picks to extract it.

I Inserted the key that i wanted to use before pulling out the lock cylinder. Then took a file and filed down the brass slats flush with the lock cylinder.

Reinstalled the lock cylinder and put a new roll pin in that I picked up at ace hardware. Then staked the roll pin so it will not come out.

Finally I used a roll pin that I got from ace hardware to assemble the handle. The holes needed to be enlarged so the roll pin slid through. I left one hole in the bezel smaller so the roll pin could grab and not fall out. Then cut the pin flush

It works perfect and now everything uses the same key.

Cleaned and painted an original horn button. Also went through a pair of original wipers. Disassembled sandblasted and painted. Bought a pair of reproduction wiper blades and took the rubber and plastic spacer and used them on the originals. Reassembled with new rivets.

Nice work on the wipers, what paint did you use?
I've heard Wurth Silver is a good match but I haven't tried it.

EB, do you know the paint code for the Wurth Silver?
If the shade on those wiper arms is a match. I need some better silver than what WW sells for my bumper supports.

I used krylon metallic aluminum (2766). I matched it to the reproduction blades. It is pretty close. The reproduction blades are a little brighter silver.

Awesome. That is so close to the 67 bumper support color.
I'm gonna get a couple cans from HD.
My supports are rusted through the paint from WW.

Thanks for posting the paint code.

I don't know if it has a paint code?
I think it's one of their standard spray can colors.

I believe this is it

Being a non-expert in such things, I am surprised to see that Wolfsburg West didn't attempt to reproduce their part to appear more accurate: the OE arms have asymmetric lobes on the blade clevises, where WW's are symmetrically rounded. Weird Think

What was the pre-paint surface prep on the arms and blade bits?
Edit: I see that you bought new blade holders.

The Krylon 2766 is advertised as an all in one paint. Prime, coat, and finish.

I'm gonna blast my parts and paint them. Unless you have a better idea Scotty.

I sand blasted, cleaned and then sprayed them with the paint. I did not use the new blade holders. I pulled the rubber out and installed in the original holders.

Got the case back from a aline bore/thrust cut and got the bottom end assembled. The rods are aa performance 36hp H beam rods. #2 and 4 had to be clearanced for the cam. The cam is a Wolfsburg west blank that web cam ground. Grind #1630 0.335 lift 290 duration 268 duration at .050. The pistons had to be clearanced on one side to clear the opposing rod. I also balanced the rods and pistons.
