I recently bought this KG stored in a garage for 30 years. It was complete, nothing missing, but very dirty and some rust. First things first, I was able to get it to run (very poorly). So, I am rebuilding the carb.

Wiring was a real hack job, see photos. So, I cleaned it all up and replaced the wires the way I found them. Can anyone tell me if the wires appear to be correct? The 2 wires in my hand were not connected. Any idea where they connect?

I realize it is difficult to determine if wires are correct, but any suggestions would be helpful.

Im terrible with elec but the wires look like original, but have all after market connectors in bad condition. Brown always a ground, looks like the yellow with red stripe perhaps goes to batt.

A couple of comments. That regulator isn’t original and fitting it is probably the reason for the wiring changes, especially that molex connector. Then there's a bit of risk with that four way connection that really should be insulated.
Probably this one in the classifieds is the right thing…
