Hi all. If the engine had overheated would this be totally black?

Cheers

I saw you posted on Facebook and got a couple answers, to tell you the truth if it has any meaning it’s for just the area it is stuck to and don’t really mean anything. If you need to know the temp get the proper tooling.

Thanks for the reply.

I am just trying to work out how the sticker works so I have all the information before I talk to my engine guy.

Thanks again

It's my understanding that those are "warranty" stickers used by some engine rebuilders.

When a customer comes back claiming that the engine is busted after being built its an easy check to see whether or not the engine had been overheated since it was built.

It's a kin to the moisture monitoring things inside electronics to show whether or not the item has ever been wet.
