Volkswagen is the first word I can think of whereby the proper noun contains more syllables than the spoken initials used to shorten it. _________________

Just happened to me trying to re-register online in Massachusetts. I'm going to mail it in like I always have. Idiots. _________________ Dave

OMG i just noticed this two.
I have 3 buses, and two of them are titled and registeres as "VW" meaning "Veenema and Weigers" while the other one is a "Volks"
but.. i noticed that when i went to renew one of the registrations, it was more expensive than my 2013 Dodge.
AND i've also noticed that I've had excise tax bills that might not make any sense.
I may actually go to my RMV and demand that they fix this. I don't want to pay tractor trailer rates, all because some F'n idiots decided it would be good to call their VEHICLE company "VW"
I also sent a nasty email to "Veenema and Weigers" told them that a LOT of people are getting them confused with Volkswagen.
Seriously, name your stupid company "weigers and Veenema". what IDIOT picks a name that already exists?

In our case it's the insurance that can't get anything right but the vehicle registration is correct. It's the same gal in the office that does both and at the same time on the same day! _________________ We had the stone age, the bronze age, the industrial age and now we are in the age of mass deception and mind control for corporate profit. i think you meant to say the opposite. That the word "VOlkswagen" has less syllabels than "Vee Double You"
sort of like "World Wide Web" is actually quicker to say than "Double you Double you Double You" _________________ 1970 Commercial Kombi

Thing is, it shouln't be a "VW". "VW" is what my two cars say on the title, and that's "Veenmer and Weigers". the proper abbreviation on titlles and registrations in Mass for "Volkswagen" is "VOLKS"
That my friend, is the problem. And from what i can gather, Veenmer and weegiers is a really obsure company of trailers or trucks or whatever. Like i can't find a single picture of ONE of them anywhere on the internet.
if you google them, you will actually find more people in the VW forums whining that their volkswagens have been mis-identified as them (oh hey, its us!)
Problem is accoerding to various registiries of various states, they think that there are thousands of Veenmer and Weiggers (i dunno how to spell the stupid name) out there on the road, except i bet you $1000 they are ALL volkswagens,
Seems like this is causing confusion with the kit car people who don't know, yeah, it's a volkswagen.
i'm guessing this doesn't happen with newer Volkswagens because "V-W" is not on the drop down list of something newer than the mid 70s.
This is going to mess up a lot of paperwork on a lot of vintage volkswagens. I'm gonna go to the RMV and give them an earful, and let you know what happens. _________________ 1970 Commercial Kombi

Washington seems to be using the same 4 letter codes. A newer beach buggy or other kit car has a make of KITV (older buggies are titled as VOLK). _________________
