I bought my '56 single cab in the summer of '08 from Matt Hummel for $5k; still have it.
The '68 single I bought in '03 off Craigslist for $1500. Sold it a couple years ago for $10k.

Bought my first bus in 2019. Paid $20K. 1966 Kombi, pretty solid overall metal (other than bastardized wheel-well cutouts from a prior 70s experiment, as well as an 8-track cutout in the dash). Horrible rattle-can green spray paint over velvet green original paint. There are a few old bay-era Westy bits in the interior - folding bench seat and table - otherwise pretty much plain interior with unknown front seat upholstery, and no roof liner.
1600 DP engine with newly rebuilt transaxle, clutch and starter. Otherwise pretty much all original.
And yes, this thread makes me too. I wish I had started this hobby 15 years ago!

Just sold this '65 Panel/camper last month for $4500, bought it about 13 years ago for $300, I put a roller trans in it last year, that's all I've ever done to it.
Looking at todays prices, I'm pretty stoked I got into Buses @ 20 years old in 1980...... _________________ Tom
