Recently bought a 1988 bus that had been imported from Mexico and likely sitting for some time. Local shop installed new mechanical fuel pump and new filter. Runs when tested but later it fades and dies and will not restart. Stranded a couple times. Looks like no fuel flow. Appreciate any experience / wisdom from the community. Is there some common problem on these? Next suspect is fuel lines or corrosion in the tank but I'd be glad to hear it just needs a new 10 cent flux capacitor to fix the whole thing. Or useful to change to low pressure electric pump? Thanks for thoughts. |
Ping me with your coordinates, I’m in Bethlehem just south of the “ City”

Yes trash in the tank or similar that intermittently plugs the screen seems possible. Funny that it becomes unplugged and then clogs again.
Dave - it is a 1.8 water cooled motor. |
