Our little unofficial Gold Club had a really great time at the Townsend, Tennessee car show! Camping, seeing a lot of really cool vehicles, and most importantly spending time with some great people! Thanks to those who orchestrated the show!
We took two of our vans through Cades Cove. While no lions or tigers were spotted, we did encounter a mama bear and two of her cubs!

What are the odds? Have y'all rejected a half dozen travel mates because their van wasn't the right color?
Great camper, check.
Departs on time, check.
Turns in early, check.
Carries extra beer, parts and firewood, check.
White van, hmmm, check back when your van is the right color.

I don’t consider myself an objectifier of color but who does?
in any case…..just got me a VOC ! 👍🏽👍🏽
Bordello Red is #1 of course but I’ve always liked the Gold vans.
Oooops always liked most VW colors….
No engine, but only 43,000 miles on this sweet young thing.
I got the “turns in early” but for “departs on time” I need a couple 3 years… _________________

The three of us just happened to meet at Dead of Winter Campouts at Cloudland Canyon, Georgia, and just happened to have the same color vans. Since meeting we've become really good friends, and enjoying some trips together.
We're all planning on being at the Tannehill VW show in McCalla, Alabama August 28th. _________________ 1986 Volkswagen Vanagon Westfalia "Von Westy"

That's really cool! We don't have a lot of the Savannah Beige Metallic vans around here. Lots of Pastel White and Flash Silver, followed by Bordeaux Red and Orly Blue. _________________ '84 Vanagon GL 1.9 WBX

There's at least one or two more vans of this color in my area. One I just happened upon last year when coming back from our property in North Georgia. We both stopped off at a grocery store and had a chat. He has a tin top, same color, same year, and isn't too far from where I live. _________________ 1986 Volkswagen Vanagon Westfalia "Von Westy"

I plan to be at the Tannehill show. Haven’t made that one in a while. It’s a beautiful drive from my place through the Talledega NF. Great overlooks and swimming holes. _________________ 1973 Westy (shared birthday)
