Hello fellow friends and enthusiasts - I was wondering if it's worth getting a Bay Window bus (for cheap, mind you) for any frame pieces or sections for a double cab. I know that Bay Windows are longer, but, for the right price is anything salvagable? |

The bay is only longer in the front floor area ahead of the front axle. And the steering gearbox is further ahead, so the angle is different.
The frame is likely stronger in most areas, 1970 and later have more structural members under the front floor.
There was a guy in Iowa, maybe 30 years ago that put a whole late bay frame under a splittie so he could mount a type 4 engine more easily.
Unless you were creating a Frankenbus, I think the bay might be of more value to a bay owner. _________________ Al Brase
