I've had it run through by a local shop, started to change the transmission oil but I need a lower profile tool so whatever's in there will have to do (level is good). See you all when I get back!

Good luck. Just came back from a 600 mile trip in my 95. Nothing long distance, but 9700 FT and 26% grade! In some cases, she was chugging in 1st gear, but made it nonetheless. Have fun!

It went better than expected. Only things to note are: boy that transmission tunnel gets _hot_. One day one of the coolant temp sensors decided to go wonky, but overall the engine temp seemed good. A bit of cv joint noise suspected on the way back, but the boots were cracked before I left so that's to be expected. It was a great trip!

A road trip in a old VW van is always a adventure. My EV is permentily in limp home mode so I never dare go. More than two or three towns away.. but my. Bay goes everywhere well in the northeast anyway.. I just have to accept my EV as a local. Yokel.when I come back here(PR) it is at least dependable.keep.them buses & vans goin..
