I'm interested in knowing how many Eurovan MV Weekenders were sold in the U.S. and/or North America. I'm specifically interested in the 2001-2003 models.

Is that information publicly available anywhere?

I found this archived thread:
http://www.thesamba.com/vw/forum/archive/index.php/o-t--t-493071--.html
..but it looks like that answer that @bobbermac gave is focused only on the Eurovan Winnebago Full Camper numbers.

I also found this, which is for Eurovans more generally:
Quote:
Only a handful of minivans saw a sales increase during 2001, and Volkswagen’s EuroVan was one of them. In fact, sales jumped by 106 percent, according to Automotive News. But because the 2000 total included only 2,714 units, an increase to 5,600 last year isn’t quite as dramatic as the percentage sounds. Volkswagen has stated the potential of selling 10,000 EuroVans yearly. If the German automaker decides to produce a modern-day Microbus, which currently appears to be a 50-50 possibility, the EuroVan’s fate is uncertain.

...which is from here:
http://www.cars.com/volkswagen/eurovan/2002/expert-reviews/

I imagine the total North American Eurovan numbers (all model types) are out there somewhere, but I'm not finding them. Anybody know them?

Same question for what percentage of North American Eurovans were Westfalia MV Weekenders?[/quote]

Good luck on finding the specific amount of Weekenders.

Eurovan Sales:
2002 - 6673
2003 - 4735
2004 - 209

Adding in those other numbers:
2000 - 2714
2001 - 5600
2002 - 6673
2003 - 4735
2004 - 209
Total - 19,931

Manufacturers don't release numbers for specific models within the model. For example, Chrysler groups the Caravan and Grand Caravan together. There were 233,394 sold in US for 2003 but how many were Grand Caravans, is anyones guess. Another example is the Fiat 500. I own a 2015 Abarth yet Fiat sold 25084 in 2015. How many of them are Abarths?

Then, you have to remember, the last EV's sold here in the states were mostly built in 2002. This is because the VW factory retooled the line in 2003 to start production for 2004 T5. Even my 2003 EV Weekender was built in May, 2002 yet it's a 2003. I can tell you by around April of 2003, there were no new EV Weekenders in the US. They all had been sold. I got mine in August of 2003 but it had 10K on it and was a VW program vehicle.

I'm gonna guess and say perhaps there may be some 4000-6000 Eurovans still on the road in the U.S. if something like 25K units were sold in total. I wonder if a tranny manufacturer would be willing to do a limited run of 5K new EV transmissions? I'm sure almost everyone would snap up a new built EV tranny if they could get their hands on one. Just dreamin', i guess. VW Logo Wink

I just found these figures here: https://carsalesbase.com/us-volkswagen-eurovan/

Volkswagen
Eurovan
2005 0
2004 209
2003 4.735
2002 6.673
2001 5.600
2000 2.714
1999 3.395
1998 1.742
1997 1.738
1996 995

Adds up to 27,801 units.

The table is missing 1995 and 1994 figures but I imagine the sales were under under 1K each year.

Don't forget some of those years were Winnie Campers only, the OP asked about Weekenders. Also, I don't think they sent any '94s to the States.
