There's a cool article on the Hagerty site about a 1958 adventure trip from South Africa to England in a Dove Blue '54 Kombi. Summary from a newly released book about the same journey. Lots of incredible vintage images of an early Bus stuck in all kinds of exotic locations! Check it out!

Thanks for that, looks like a cool trip and I'm checking it out.
I sort of skimmed it and looked at the pics to start and:
I'm not sure why they said it's a '54 though since it's not a Barndoor.
