Pro work right there. Metallics can be tricky so hanging the doors was smart.
The body and paint work look excellent. I would trust you with any vehicle.

It also had overrider holes cut in at one time. I say "cut" because the hole was not round. A square patch was tacked on the backside and the front had filler.

I am also dealing with this on my Oct 55 vert. Rough cut holes in the original apron , BC states M107 bumpers with guards. The difference is yours has the factory brace needed to support the spare when the over rider support tubes are used while mine does not. Maybe just another weird 55 transition year thing?

Well I have embarked on another build. This one will be for a buddy of mine. I enlisted the help of one of my friends who is a painter to help me with the paint and bodywork. This one is going to be a bone stock rebuild. To date the car has been stripped and taken off the chassis. So far it seems to be one solid starting point.

It has had a respray in its lifetime. The interior was replaced probably at the same time that the car was resprayed.

Motor is stock and I believe it is numbers matching. It does have a cool uterus manifold and a tripped out Big M coil.

so far no rust repair will be needed. Pans are solid and original. There are a few holes that will need to be filled on the dash. someone also cut the center out of the speaker hole, It had a huge speaker mounted.

Honestly was that Original paint? In that good of shape? Original interior. WOW....I dont think I would have restore it myself. I would have done a preservation. I dont think I have ever seen a car that early with original strato in that condition. Strato usuallly goes black when it is left outside. Well will look nice when it is done. But IMO it was done before you started.
