The shelves in the forward (under sink) cabinet on my '86 are supported by some small round brown plastic or rubber bumpers, each of which has a small nail or brad sticking out of it.

My shelf needs to have some missing ones added...

- anybody know where to get these?

or at least the right terminology so i can search for them?
- cabinet shelf support yields nothing

If you can't find the exact thing you might make do with some nail-on glides as used on the bottom of chair legs:

Can probably find something like that at your neighborhood hardware store.

Mine are all crumbling and breaking. Anybody have a particularly good substitute or work around? Cheers.

Going to check mine, seems to me something funny was going on when I cleaned it. Didn't look like anything was missing, but if it was a small pin hole head I was, I might have missed it.

That just looks like a thumb tack?

Go to any good hardware store that has hardware bins and you can find spacers in all kinds of materials; aluminum, plastic, nylon, etc. Use these spacers with small screws and you're set.

You can use shelf pins instead - several different types:

I ended up 3D printing some. I can provide the file if you'd like.

The old nails did not hold up. I switched to screws - which work with the 3D-printed ones.

I used these:

https://www.amazon.ca/WELANE-Stainless-Electronics...d_rp_0_1_t

Bigger diameter but not much so raises shelf height imperceptibly but screw into the original nail holes so no hammering in confined cabinet space and no holes to drill. Worked well for me...

l use these to repair shelves for customers.
l have a piece of aluminum flat stock, with a bunch of holes in it, l mark the hole l'm going to use, and drill them all the same, either from the floor, or from the top down, the shelves are flat every time.
