Hello - I'm looking for a transmission for a 73 bus, known good running, rebuilt, or a reference to a shop that will rebuild this one.
I put one in off the scrap pile already so not interested in another gamble.
German Transaxle is Plan B, there's got to be a usable transmission in the Bay area
Thank you |

German transaxle is booked three to four months out. Get on their list NOW.

Eric at Transworks in El Cajon is where I would take it. _________________ “Most people don’t know what they’re doing, and a lot of them are really good at it.” - George Carlin |

I second Eric from Transworks, he just built me a beefed up stock gearing trans for my 71 bus, couldn’t be happier. I live in New Jersey and I had it in a week and a half .

When Rick Long retired I bought some parts and tools from him. In conversation I asked who might be the best place in his opinion to send a trans now that he was retired. Eric was the answer. When I got my 091 apart, I needed a replacement mainshaft. No one had a new or used one. Eric did. He is the guy to send or take a transmission to. I know that San Diego seems like a long way to go, but you only want to do it once. There are other transmission folks but really Eric knows what he is doing. _________________ “Most people don’t know what they’re doing, and a lot of them are really good at it.” - George Carlin |

Eric recently shipped a tranny to British Columbia for a samba member. I live 15 miles from his shop and if you need help dealing with him just let me know. Eric has built many for me and my customers. _________________ Lead Mechanic: San Diego Air and Space Museum

78 stock Westy.
Transworks rebuilt mine a year or so ago. Works great & fast turnaround. Would recommend them. |
