Just installed my hitch from Jeremy rock jock. I have the super flow vintage speed exhaust that exits out of the stock cutout. Pretty stoked on how nicely it fit, now I gotta go clean my bumper....

Could you post more pictures of your hitch/exhaust/bumper setup?

Thanks for the reply. Could post something like the 3rd and 4th pic from Kafer59, earlier in this thread? I'd like to see the muffler to hitch clearance and the tailpipe thtough the notch clearance.

Does anyone know if this will fit with A1 sidewinder exhaust?

https://www.thesamba.com/vw/classifieds/detail.php?id=1039735

I think it is beautifully made and would love to use it to put a bike rack on and maybe tow a small trailer but I want to know if anyone has used it on their bus with the same exhaust... Also just to confirm you do not have to cut a hole in the bottom of the bumper for the tow hitch to clear right? Thank you Laughing

i still think that this is the best design. ties so many places together. And they also protect the underside of the bus.

I’d be in for a couple as well, some really awesome craftsmanship there.

Here is Jeremy's hitch in action.
https://www.thesamba.com/vw/classifieds/detail.php?id=1039735

Strong and easy to use without cutting and only exposing the 2" receiver below.
My bus is lowered w an A1 exhaust. I wouldn't tow anything SUPER heavy, but I wouldn't do that with any Bus.

Here is a receiver hitch I made for my Double Cab
Image may have been reduced in size. Click image to view fullscreen.

The 6mm button head bolts are to keep the bumber and hitch from rattling.
Image may have been reduced in size. Click image to view fullscreen.

The receiver hitch is made in three parts. the center cross tube is bolted to modified bumper mounts.
Image may have been reduced in size. Click image to view fullscreen.

The 10mm bumper mount bolts were changed to 12mm. Nut plates were tacked in place once the structure was bolted and adjusted into place.
Image may have been reduced in size. Click image to view fullscreen.

An additional mount bracket with 10mm bolts was added to each bumper mount.
Image may have been reduced in size. Click image to view fullscreen.

Not shown is the addition of plates to box in the frame rails. This was done after the nut plates were welded in place. About the only towing i plan to do is tow a '67 Bug.
