I searched.
I thought, at some time in the past. I saw someone reproducing Rocket Industries Center Cap decals.
Does anyone have a link to a reproducer, or know of a set of four for sale?

I have a decent set of Rockets that I traded for recently and would like to get the decals for the center caps.

A classifieds search, lead me to a set of machined center caps. But they have the "Wolfburg" crest in them. Instead of the Rocket Ind. Yellow background with black lettering.

Any help here would be greatly appreciated.

The stickers/decals could easily be made.

Or buy them from someone who already did https://www.ebay.com/itm/VINTAGE-ROCKET-WHEEL-INDU...632-2357-0

From my quick research it seems they produced two style of cap decals originally. The one pictured above (you can't tell from the picture since its been rubbed off) said "RACING" at the top and "WHEELS" at the bottom. Those two words are arc shaped. Then in the middle is the "ROCKET" logo.

The graphic on the Ebay one looks more vintage, more of a 60's style than 70's. Maybe that one is their early style/original logo.... I could be wrong about all of this... purely speculation based on a little research.

Honestly, the actual caps wouldn't even be that hard to reproduce. Might make for a fun side project. Cool I wonder what the dimensions are?

Thanks Johnny and Evan.

Johnny, the center caps I have are the press fit ones.
When I did a google search a few months ago. I saw some center cap decals that had a yellow background and black lettering.
The decals on your caps look great to. My car is Zenith Blau. So the green decals would make the center caps pop. Cool

Even, thanks for the ebay link. I might have to order a set of those silver background with red accent decals in the mean time.
I traded the stock wheels that you PM'd me about a few weeks ago. Not to worry. I have another complete set of stock wheels. Including the original spare tire from way back in 1966. Very Happy

F it! I'm gonna place the ebay order after I hit submit on this post.
But, I'll keep an eye out for some other decals.

I received the Rocket Ind center cap decals. I think they look pretty good.

The two right tires and wheels are at the tire shop currently. Once they are ready for pickup. I'll post a couple pics of the wheels on the car.

Lookin' good! Cool

Now you just need some fancy redline tires to match Laughing

I honestly like that decal design better in general, and we all know... red makes you go faster anyway! Twisted Evil matches the tail lights too.

Thanks.
In what respect are you curious about the quality?

The castings are a little rough. But I can clean that up as well.
I do like the brake drum stud/lug nut fit.

The wheels are a little tarnished. So I have been going over the polished areas with "Never-Dull."
But with a little more work these should shine up pretty good.

Some of the spokes are stained too. I tried cleaning the stains off with "Purple Power" and scrub brush. It helped a little. But the spokes need more work as well.

Evan, Have you priced a set of Redline tires from Coker? .They are Fn big $$$.

I was thinking a set of Firestone Wide Oval 70"s for the rears. And a set of Moroso fronts. The Moroso's only come in a drag race tire style. Not much tread for street driving.
All the above tires mounted with Raised White Lettering exposed. Very Happy Cool

The chromed plastic caps that have the 5 "ears" with the mounting holes in them...they worth anything? I have had them in my garage for 15 years that I know of, 3 are plastic, one is metal

Yep that was part of the joke. They are definitely too expensive!

I do like them tho. One day I'll put some on a hot rod that needs 'em!

As far as a period correct high quality perfomance tires that don't break the bank... I just got some Veredestien Sprint Classics I'm very happy with. Love the way they look and drive. They make a lot of sizes too. https://m.tirerack.com/tires/tires.jsp?tireMake=Vredestein&tireModel=Sprint+Classic
