I’m having real problems removing the flexible brake hose on the front brakes of my fasty.
I’ve never know anything like it. I’ve even removed the whole right hand section from the Brake Master Cylinder and held the copper brake line nut in a vice and I still can’t disconnect it. (It’s the 17mm nut and 11mm combo which just won’t shift)
I’m at risk of rounding the 11mm nut on the brake line which will mean I need to replace it.
If anybody has any serviceable front brake line sections they don’t need I’d be interested. I can’t see I’d going to be able to unbolt this.
I’m sure I’ll have the same problem on the longer left hand side (it’s a RHD car) so I’ll need both sides.
Any other suggestions welcome! _________________ Sexy beauties in sexy lingerie waiting for you here https://thesexygirlsinlingerie.com/ |

Just a quick comment. To avoid the risk of rounding always use line wrenches on the fittings, unless the tolerance is too tight to fit the wrench head. If that's the case, there are line wrench vice grips that might work.
Also, use Kroil as a penetrating lubricant and always try and rock the fitting. Go forward and backward gently. You can also mix your own penetrant using a combination of Acetone and Automatic Transmission Fluid with a 50/50 ratio.
You're probably doing all this, but just in case.

Soak it for a day or three. I had to use vide grips on mine and did not care if they got rounded. When the new ones want on I did have the line wrench. _________________ Volkswagen: We tune what we drive.

Yup. sometimes on that connection I'll use 2 vice grips, mostly for the leverage to "crack" the connection loose. Might be worth a shot. _________________ Bob 65 Notch S with Sunroof
