The great thing about this project is that we are able to witness the work that goes into creating a car entirely from scratch. The workmanship that goes into this is mind-boggling.
More photos of the door finger recess and latch mechanism.

Making the door hinges and striker plates. I can assume the striker plates are copies of an original Mercedes part. They were probably easier to make new than locate original items.

Making of luggage tray floor and firewall. Once again the attention to correct details is incredible especially considering that some areas of these pars will be hidden away after the car is finished.
First the firewall area.

Finally the guys have started on an iconic part of the W30 - the engine lid. This is the visual cue that defines the 1937 W30. Personally I'm super excited to see it taking shape.

The attention to detail is incredibly impressive and commendable. _________________ Gone but not forgotten: 1950 Hoffman split (restored in 1966) - another 1950 Hoffman split (restored in 1996) |

Work continues on the left door. So clever to take care of all the inner bits such as the window regulator and all the channels for the door glass and making a pattern for the glass itself before fitting of the outer skin. The window winder mechanism is a period Mercedes part.
Note the nicely finished inner skin of that door! So much detail has already gone into it.

I got to agree guys. I really hope I get to see this in the flesh one day like I did with the VW38 006.

More work on the door. Installing window channels, winder mechanism and finishing off the window opening. The outer skin is the last to go on sealing the whole construction making it solid.

i can only hope so.
I follow a youtube channel (retropowercars). they do a metal master minute kind of thing where you can just watch a metal master do a particular piece of a car. The feedback in the comments is awesome. the people (as in I) appreciate that kind of content. _________________ regards
