Roller pedal play -slack

Can anyone help me out here. My aftermarket roller pedal for my rail buggy has lots of side to side movement-but only at the top of the link. I have a washer between it and the factory pedal bracket which keeps it firm where it mounts to the pin. It would seem that the bracket opening is wider at the top -by design which allows a lot of slop just above the pin.

How can this be remedied? It's like you need tall washer that is thinner at the bottom and thicker at the top.

Anyone else experiencing this?

Pretty much every person fitting aftermarket parts finds that they don't fit as good as original stock vw parts.

Buy original, stock vw parts.
They don't make me like they used to.
Most aftermarket stuff is made in China, despite what the box says!
