Oh Gentle Forum Helpers;
Been through Bentley, Gallery pics, and web images and I can't find this device. It's probably in the wiring diagram just hiding from me. I tried before I posted.
This strange yellow thing has a shielded lead to the spark plug with a capture ring. It's got two separate harnesses running along the engine compartment on the driver's side disappearing under the rear tin. Its located at the back of the engine compartment.
I haven't gotten the ohm meter out yet because I thought someone might recognize it. Any ideas?
Thx. As always.
Dave

If what I am seeing in that last photo is what I think it is...then yes, that is for the VW diagnostic system. That back round fitting would go around the spark plug wire for cylinder #1 from what I can remember.

Yup, it's part of the old VW dealership diagnostic system, where the dealership would plug in to check various things like charging system, and various other parts of the cars systems. _________________ Bob 65 Notch S with Sunroof
