Hey I recently got a Westfalia but I'm a little unsure of the veichle itself. It's a 1969 campermobile. It has a few oddities that I just can't seem to find online. The pop up for it goes straight up over the sink. Not one of the big ones you can sleep in. It also has two tow hooks, one on the back and one on the front. It also has this third light that has seems to connect to the dash somewhere. There are also three knobs on the passenger side that I can't seem to identify.
If anyone knows anything that would be awsome! Thanks. |

Whitehorse? As in the Yukon? Someday I’d like to get back there.
Small pop top is often referred to as a “European” one.
Hooks? Maybe a picture?
There seems to be a few other issues. Like no engine? Bumpers? Tail lights? Is there a sliding door there on the right side? Those relays just to the left of the emergency brake handle are they just dangling there? I hope this one was pretty cheap, you have a long way to go. Good luck. _________________ Larry in OB

And the horseshoe on the sink cabinet is pointing with the legs down. Not good. All the good luck will flow out. When driving and owning a vintage Volkswagen we can use all the good luck that’s available. _________________ Larry in OB

Haha yeah I should have definitly said its going through the repair process. I got most of it taken apart and just tackling the body work before painting. The engine runs but just took in apart to replace all the old parts. Did not know that about the horseshoe, so ill definitly flip it aorund. |

And now I see the rear hook! I was looking on my phone before and now on the big screen my old eyes can see it! Definitely a prior owner modification, probably welded to the frame rail. _________________ Larry in OB

That tow hook is a super rare factory accessory. Congrats! I thought I was the only one that had one. I've never seen another one and I've owned my bus since 1993.

Sounds (and looks from what I can see) like a European model. The dash knobs left to right are cig lighter, fog lamps?, silver socket (european cig lighter socket for powering portable devices), interior light? The green one and the one with the light symbol will have to have the wires followed to see what they do, the only thing Westfalia put there was the silver socket. I see another North American cig lighter below the radio, either the PO had alot of stuff to plug in, or was a chain smoker.
Is there a stove in the swing down door on the tall closet behind the drivers seat? More interior details will help narrow down the exact model. _________________ Rust NEVER sleeps and stock never goes out of style.
