The right side of the top cooling fin has to be trimmed flush so the pulley tin clears it.

Same in early 1980s with my Maxi2 from Claude's Buggies; when the casting was changed to CB Performance, same issue with that top fin.

Well, after all that, the pump doesn't clear the A1 sidewinder header.
So going to change the pump to a remote filter. _________________ Glenn

Got the CB... had a credit on the books so it cost almost nothing.
I'm gonna compare the 2 pumps and if i'm lucky, the holes line up and I just need to swap the covers. I think both are Schadek pumps. _________________ Glenn

The wider the gears, the more the thing sticks out.
CB oil pumps are not the same as shadec, there are at least three differences, see if you can spot them. |

It was a sign not to use the filter pump after all
On the other hand, there is no shame in going to town with a flap disc

It's not the same part. It cannot be the same casting because all the holes are machined. The holes in "normal shadec" pumps are part of the casting, so it's not the same casting, not the same gears, not the same shafts, but yes it's made by the same company.
Is vw made by audi or is audi made by vw????
If the pope shits in the woods is it still holy shit or just regular? Jeez.
no big deal, it may fit, I don't know, I haven't bought any empi oil pump. I bet you didn't either. Gotta love customer supplied parts. |

Why throw a fit, when you can throw tools/parts? |

And I'm not smarter than an oil pump: I don't work better when I'm under pressure. |
