Hard start relay -- F496 vs Bosch

Howdy folks,
I'm stlll attempting to work out the gremlins with my hot start issue. It appears I have a f496 relay in there as a hot start fix. Old receipts indicate as much. Do those things fail? From my reading they seem to be robust.

I also have a bosch hard start relay kit (WR1).

Would it make sense to ditch the f496 and install the new bosch? I'm still trying to figure out whats going on here and where my voltage drop is occuring, but in the meantime (and for our trip to the cape) I thought I would make use of parts if the f496 is either less than optimal, bad, or would be upgraded by the Bosch.
