We've got a wire welder here, I just have no experience with it.
The broken bracket is super close to where it broke off, so it wouldn't be very difficult, I just need the roommate that has the experience to have the 10 minutes free. _________________ Good decisions come from experience. Experience comes from bad decisions.

Matt, who is luckily (for me, maybe not him) four miles down the road from me, spent a good three hours fixing this for me and a six pack of Black Butte Porter can't even come close to a big enough THANK YOU. This clutch has NEVER felt this solid as long as I've owned it.
The original support was too weak to work properly, so Matt added a vertical stay.
Original break:

Matt's fix:
I'm going to leave the hole open for a while to make sure things stay solid. _________________ Good decisions come from experience. Experience comes from bad decisions.

My 1970 has this mechanic-added mount (like 30 or 40 years ago). Funny, looks just like a heater hose connector !!!!

That looks solid! That tube mount is never moving again.
Weld we up and be done with it.
Glad you got it repaired! _________________ Jimbo

Matt Wilson is the responsible party, I tried to contribute, but just got in the way. My only sadness is that the only thing that I can contribute to his t6ime, is a boatload of karma for him. And a six pack. _________________ Good decisions come from experience. Experience comes from bad decisions.

It’s all good! Good things happen to good people, because they DO good things, without the need for monetary compensation. I have done plenty of free work. I have also been handed a beer or several afterwards. It’s all good! _________________ Jimbo

I've had folks put me in chair behind a VW with a cooler of beer beside the chair. All they wanted me to do was tell them what to do and watch that they did it correctly. They wanted to learn how to do it, not watch me do it. _________________ Daily driver: '69 Baja owned 44 yrs - Plan B: '81 Rabbit Diesel LS Deluxe - Plan C: '72 Ghia
