Hi,

Ive found the following car, and i'm wondering what it is?
Its not mine! But looking for more information. It is supposed to be an australian hand made car, but hey who knows where it came from or who custom made it! There is no identification/paperwork. only 1 sign on the dashboard that states "special".
features vw beetle and type3 parts as shown on the pictures.

greetings

Cool car! Fiberglass body? Interesting 80 mph (kph?) speedometer trim ring. Sure would love to see a pic of what's under the engine lid.

It is a steel body.
Its Powered with a 30hp engine. Chassis number is from a 59 beetle.

Beetle windshield for a back window, with wipers. Tail lights resemble a Type 3. Window moldings don't match.

Someone built that out of whatever they could get their hands on.

Yeah that looks like a typethree notch back that’s been chopped down and has a custom front end stolen from another car.

Wait…Where are the fender louvers?

At first I thought that was a water cooled conversion with the engine in front.

Particularly since there are no louvers in the rear fenders for an air intake.

So now I’m thinking he ducted air through the doors into the fenders from up front.

Looks like a SAAB Sonnet front end grafted onto a modified T3 Notchback

That’s exactly what I thought but I couldn’t find a picture of the sonnet online.
It sure would be nice if we could see the undercarriage.

here's the engine bay - at the rear...and no obvious inlet for air

It would be awesome if it had an Austin Martin looking back half.

I'm wondering if the air is funnelled through the central tunnel to the fan...?

That was my plan way back when first getting my Mini-Camaro street worthy. Would've been fairly simple to glass a funnel from grille to front of tunnel.

But I couldn't figure out how to get around the transaxle obstructing the rear of tunnel.
