How does one disassemble the vent window latch that locks into place? Does the pin need to be removed? And if so how? _________________ 1984 1.9L Westy |

I did it! Sometimes I forget I have to stop being scared of breaking something and just do it. I used a heavy duty c-wrench to turn the butterfly-like nut off by turning it counter-clockwise. I tried channel locks before posting but I guess it was screwed in very tight. Seems to screw back in just fine.

Just get a roll pin punch and pound it out. Simple!

Oh no! Was I not supposed to unscrew the nut? I'm just trying to install the glass on it.
Do I need to use a pin punch to get it removed? Would this guide help?

If just installing the handle you are on the right track. Transfer the little lead pieces over and tighten it up be sure to note handle location and when done snap black cover back on.

Amazing, thanks Stacy. Is it normal that the window feels tighter to close now? Will it loosen over time? _________________ 1984 1.9L Westy |
