After getting the flywheel gland nut off, I can’t seem to get the actual flywheel free. Any tips, or should I just try to pry it off? |

Use two flat head screwdrivers on the 9 and 3 oclock positions behind the flywheel, pry one side at a time back and forth. It will walk it off. _________________ www.vintagecarleds.com

Here’s an interior question:
I’m looking for a stock steering wheel, and I found both a white one and a black one. My car is a 71 sapphire blue with platinum interior. Would the white one or the black one be correct for this color combo? |

Black. Keep in mind that 71 steering wheel and column assembly are all by themselves (1 year only). _________________ Bob 65 Notch S with Sunroof

Ok, thanks for the reply. Is there a way to identify a 71 steering wheel from other models years? |

Look for a brass ring screwed to the back of the steering wheel. It should be held on by 3 screws. _________________ Bob 65 Notch S with Sunroof

On a different note, I believe that my thermostat has failed. This is what it looks like when cold.
If it is failed, is there a way to fix/ repair/ rebuild it? Or do I have to find a new one? Do all models ( type 1 , type 3, etc.) have the same style or are type 3s specific?
Thanks in advance |

mine looks like that too when cold but it still opens up when I shortly hit it with a heat gun. Since it still opens up, I used mine like that, but now I realise the flaps might not close 100% when cold. I don't think that's a huge issue though... |

Yes, I ran the heat gun over it, and it did open up a little, but it still is hitting the top of the bracket when cold. Would it be fine to buy a used one, or would i be better off getting a new one from Awesome Powdercoats? How often do they fail? |
