Does Anybody know what the resistor value is?
I could make my own wire and resistor I'm missing this part.

Back story: Trying to fix my 2nd van! Someone in my neighbor hood report an abandon vehicle. I have till the 30th to get her going. I could put antique tags on the van. I'm not sure in pa if you can transfer the title back to a regular tag? I may want to daily it someday after I fix it up!

Yes Front Blower. Its in the title.

The shop manual doesn't tell me what the resistance should be. It just states a series resistor....

Also, does anybody know if I can buy the metal clips to put the Front air box back together?

These?

I believe all the rage nowadays is to replace the resistor with a pwm control.

Thanks! Those are the clips.

PWM is interesting. Maybe I will just add wires to the motor and run them out of the air box and figure it out later. I really just need the heater core in so I can fill the system with coolant.

IIRC, it's roughly 2 ohms for low speed & 1 for medium. Full voltage for high speed. The original resistor
is ceramic, built to handle about 10 to 15 amps (!!!)...I've since replaced mine with a cheaper Jeep part:

the resistor only creates the slower speeds.
you can wire it directly w/o a resistor and it'll be full speed.

you can then at your leisure add in a PWM unit to that single wire and control the fan motor speed.

much better to use a PWM than a resistor that creates alot of heat and wasted energy in the wiring system.

and a note to those who would want to upgrade to a PWM you do not need to open the dash and heater to remove the old resistor.
you can do all of your new speed control on the single wire that is/was the full fan speed wire.. leave that dead ceramic cigar in there.

If you have yours out, it is printed on the resistor ......

Many of us have simply moved to a different style resistor
