Wow. We had a great time on Sunday. Mrs slayer & I got there early and hit the swap meet first & hopefully put some $$ in the pockets of other Sambanistas!
We were able to find a set of rear rubber snubbers that I was missing on my project., another shift shaft because I'm not very happy with the weld-on adjustable unit and an OG German accelerator pedal because the new school plastic one sucked balls but I think my biggest prize of the day was an early gas tank in exceedingly good condition. It still had the mechanical sender & bung in the tank!
^^^ Look at that screen! I have seen worse that came out of my own motorcycles after having set for only 5 years!
Oh, I almost forgot... the God child and his kids were also there. The God/Grandson had the time of his young life & wanted to be photographed by a couple of his favorite cars
The slayer engineering award, without question, went to the early twin turbo bug. 2 turbos under the skirt and "coolers" mounted in the engine compartment.

That twin turbo beetle was pretty rad. Looked like everything fit under the decklid with no stand offs. Whomever built that did a very nice job. |
