Barndoor find (at least a small part)

I came into this pretty complete pod, dated 1953, and that looks right based on a little research.
Wish I had the bus it came with, but this is a pretty cool wall hanger-

The original paint looks good underneath it and I'm wondering if I want to try to get the original paint back, clean it up, and locate the missing pieces?

Either way, dig the way it looks!
