Me forgorts sum stuff.
I wrapped up the last brake assembly. Drum went on first push this time
The speaker wire i had collected was way to big so I think im gonna keep it for when I install the subs and amp.
I made my own clip for the e brake lever in the drum. Fits well.
And I had to temporarily move my rabbit from the barn so my in laws can spray chemicals and stuff. So now he lives in the shop. So he can inhake my chemicals dont worry, im being extra cautious. _________________ -'85 c10 5.3 LS, 222 cam, long tubes, x pipe, 3 inch spin tech's

To whoever reported my comment or whoever saw my previous comment, if you were my generation you'd understand.
Anyways, I ordered some parts from summit, and I'm about to make a Wolfsburg west order.
Are the heater channel bottom plates all good quality? I see WW only sells the black klocker whatever, but cip1 sells the same as well as a bare steel more expensive version. How's the WW fitment? _________________ -'85 c10 5.3 LS, 222 cam, long tubes, x pipe, 3 inch spin tech's

Boy I've been busy busy busy. All I had time for today was to set a fender down on the wheel and shove a headlight in there just to see how it looked.

Been there, done that, man. I found it's also a good idea to keep a spreadsheet of the parts I've ordered with a description, part #, qty, cost, and vendor name. Early on, I ended up buying parts I already had purchased (waste of money!) _________________ .

Warning! I am about to post too many pictures... ok now you've been warned.
My daily is half apart, while I'm replacing the balance shaft. So I had my dad drop a rim off for me.
Yup this tire size rocks. With the beam dropped all the way, everything clear perfectly. And its wide too for a 4.5in rim.
I moved the taller fronts to the rear, and vice versa because this... was fucking ugly. I still need spacers in the rear and eventually wider rims.
Lol
This is alot better, but could still be taller.
And then i professionally fastened by oil filter
And I stopped by HF the other day and bought some Zirk fitting cuz the brass ones I bought sucked.
I can't put stickers on straight

ok, quick question. i think. Do the later speedos interchange directly? also, the later use electric senders right? do the later electric senders fit in my 65 tank?
thanks |
Yes, a later electronic sending unit will fit the older tank. Then you can use a later speedo to get the gauge in it as well.
I have a speedo I don't think I'm likely to use. I'll have to check the date stamp but I want to say its a 69, or 70. Has the gauge and vibrator on it too.
If you're interested we could work out a trade (assuming you have some junk I find useful) or something, otherwise just cover shipping. Up to you
Let me know and I'll try to get some pictures tonight. _________________ 73 super beetle thread http://www.thesamba.com/vw/forum/viewtopic.php?t=649622 Back on the Road!

Nice 2 c u here bro. I appreciate the offer but I have one already. Buzzer and all although idk if it works. Idk why very many people upgrade the the later ones. They basically look the same but save room for more gauges and allow for a electric sending unit.

Well I got the car running, driving, and stopping. I also did some welding, and sprayed some rock grey spray paint. Did some temporary wiring as well.
Oh and I crashed into a giant log hidden behind tall grass. Thank God it only hit the junk fender.
Here my paint for the car. Looks beautiful under light. Has tons of silver and some flake and a little pearl.
Patched the gas tank
I ended up raising the front because as you'll see in one of the videos, no front suspension is ROUGH.

Lol. Maybe driving through your field in the dark with a flashlight isn't the best idea. But awesome you got it moving under its own power. Always fun to drive a project for the first time. love the ignition switch btw. You're making good progress. Nice work. |
