While that is true now, I have seen first hand how the air quality in the Los Angles basin has cleared up over the decades. In the sixties you couldn't see the mountains from places like Pamona or San Bernadino and they are literally right next to them. It hurt your chest to take a deep breath. Now it is 100 times better. Those mountains can now be seen from San Diego. For this reason, I don't mind paying the extra. _________________ Prosit!

The best way to get a sense of this are “ Chips” reruns.

As I understand it, the improvement to CA air quality has much more to do with changes to the vehicles emissions systems, and cleaner burning fuel injection, than it does with fuel blends. Paying more than double what that same gallon of gas costs in the Midwest isn't what made the air cleaner.

It's not just one thing that made the air clearer. Emissions is a big part, not just on cars, but on manufacturing too. Types of chemicals that can be used is another part. It's a lot of big and small things. It all adds up and the proof is in the pudding. Is there inconvenients? Yes, but I and others feel it is worth it.
Edit: As someone pointed out the amount is taxes is not a significant difference isnpricing. I don't know, I didn't check. So maybe it is just demand and what the market will bear. _________________ Prosit!

Three way Catalytic converters and closed vent gas tanks were the two biggest things to change CA air. _________________ .ssS! |

Gas has suddenly gone up about 20 cents a gallon most likely because of a hurricane. So Quik Trip controls and sets the price around here for others to follow as it stands now they have 87 octane @ 2.99.9
Wouldn’t you know it old Costco has held at 2.62 that’s damn near a 40 cent difference. Screw QT and screw the rest of the gouge pricing assholes |
