There is a very solid strong original paint camper on an online auction that has a lot of factory options like safaris . It is one of the last truly amassing unrestored busses out there.

^^^ Damn! Roseglen is not even a town, just an intersection. Steffes auctions is a huge auction house in the region. I wonder if they were contacted to clear out a farmstead or something?

PG/SG safari subhatch westy is a pretty hot bus. Wonder where it will end up?

EDIT: just had a look at the auction listing. Wow, there is a bunch of cool stuff at this one. The other split bus looks like a Mango standard.

Doesn’t even look horribly rusty from the pics shown. $5600 would be a steal

Something tells me it will go much higher. That bid was placed just after noon today, after a couple days of regular bidding by multiple bidders.

Sadly it’s missing most of its camper interior. I’ve got a few videos of the inside of it and it has some bits but is missing a majority of it it seems.

This is a dream bus. Camper interior is of course rough and not complete. I wish I had taken more pictures but I saw what I needed to. The cabinets that would be on the passenger side are gone. There is a cabinet on the back right corner which is not shown. No motor. Has gas heater. Sub hatch hardware is there as is safari hardware. This bus just needs buffing and it will shine. I love this bus but knew it would exceed my pocket book.

The rust doesn't look bad, did you get under the bus and look at the frame, outriggers, inner rockers and floors from the underside? How rusty is it?

From what I could see looked reasonable for rust damage. The body could use some work but I would run it as is. The frame was hard to get a good look as it was in the weeds. Looks like it was last licensed in 74. I did stick my phone underneath and took a couple of pictures. I could not get under the front end between clearance and the tow bar. It was not sitting in the dirt. I was jazzed with what I saw, wish I could have gotten to it prior to it going to auction. I was guessing it could go up to 20 grand but has now exceeded that. Someone will love this bus but will still have to put big bucks into it. The pictures posted on the auction website do a good job of showing the topside of the bus. The owner said that he may have titles for some of the cars but he could not say for sure. Bill of sale will be given if no title.

This will be a fun project for someone. Original paint patina'd pg/sg safari window six popout westy. Can we say monster bus.

It will be interesting to see the final price. The one that popped up a couple months back was listed at 40k, and went pending really quickly. I felt that was a high price if that is what it sold for. This one appears to be a better start with better options. It is the third '58 westy to come out of the woodwork in the last few months. '58 westys are getting more common, and I love it.

$26500 I wonder if the seller is surprised that rusty old box was the most expensive thing on the property! The Mango feels like a better deal to me at $3300.

Killer PGSG, will be great if a build thread pops up here.
