Edit: I think I misread that. 1/2” heater hose works to go to/from the shroud, air filter, and charcoal canister if you just need to get the smells to stop.
You can use the braided stuff for the whole run. Vacuum advance/EEC is 3.5mm, usually black. Manifold/decel/FPR/retard is 4mm, usually green.
I get the plastic tubing from Mercedes parts houses because it comes in a dozen colors/stripes to match your paint.

The plastic hoses "should" be nylon. A very few early plastic vapor lines in late aircooled and early water cooled were polypropylene.
There are mountains of nylon fuel line and fittings out there. Just google nylon fuel line. Mamy many sites carry a huge range of sizes, wall thickness and colors. Ray |

you can use braided or get some clear hose from a big box store or online. _________________ “Most people don’t know what they’re doing, and a lot of them are really good at it.” - George Carlin |

I was missing the plastic line on the passenger’s side rear. I sourced my replacement from Chris at the Busted Bus. The metal line from the left rear “t’s” into the right, and then i used a metal line and fuel hose to connect to the canister. Then braced the “ceiling” with aluminum angle from ACE. It has worked out well. Bob
The “ missing “ line
The line from the driver’s side
The replacement line from Chris… with the “t”
All put back together.
