I just painted a pulley black a few days ago. Now I want to paint it gold, just for fun.

For a real thrill, do it while the engine is running. Laughing
BTW, weren’t there factory pulleys that were yellow zinc that looked like gold?

Posting a “how to” video would be good for aspiring hacks Very Happy
PS: the upper pulley could be done while it’s still running Wink

Do I get to practice first, or just jump right in? The other issue is, I have absolutely zero knowledge of how to post a video. Maybe I'll ask my kid, or her friends.

Do non-VW engines in VW bodies count?

If there are more pics that show the engine I think this could also qualify for the engines-only thread! That floating turbo is hilarious! Laughing

I've always enjoyed seeing carburetors adapted to engines they weren't made for.
Pretty clean adaptor work too!

My friends whole FI Type 3 engine in his Squareback looked pretty good, it was all there even had thermostat flaps, he just bought it and we got it running and drove it around a little and it had done fine. I decided to check valve adjustment so I popped off the valve covers Shocked all the valves were adjusted to .060 instead of .006 Shocked one adjuster even came out.

I know a bus can be a little top-heavy, but filling the engine bay with concrete seems a bit extreme.
